Steps to follow, when using a computer

Have a thorough eye examination. While everyone should have their eyes checked once a year, annual eye exams are especially important for computer users.

Follow the "20/20 rule." Keep your face at least 20 inches from the screen and pause every 20 minutes or so to look around the room, so your eyes can focus on distant objects. Regular eye exercise helps prevent eye strain.

Place all materials you are working with at the same distance as the screen. This reduces strain of your eyes and neck.

Make sure you have a glare screen, which should block glare without making the characters on the monitor appear fuzzy. Also if possible, move or adjust the computer screen to avoid reflections from windows or indoor lights.

Sit on a stable, comfortable, adjustable chair. If it is possible to put the keyboard a few inches below the desktop, for example, with an adjustable table, or by using a center drawer of a desk for a pullout keyboard rest, do so. This will keep your arms at a more comfortable angle.

Place computer monitor at a 35-degree angle below your eyes. This reduces incidence of Dry Eye.

Use preservative-free artificial tears intermittently when on the computer if your eyes get red and irritated. Much of computer fatigue is caused by Dry Eye.

Finally, take periodic breaks from the computer during the day, walk around and do some non-computer tasks for about 15 minutes every two or three hours.

Saw this leaked movie trailer in the et and it was awesome. And what makes it awesome? He's one of my favorite Marvel Character in X-men, Wolverine. Even if God haven't blessed her with eye vision to the cruel to this cruel world, but her music moves peoples live. I just saw this video from Star King ( Korean Talent Search Variety Show for kids with unique talents) Charice Pempengco was also able to perform here also. This is the video of the 5 years old Yoo Ye Eun who i believed a reincarnation of Sir Ludwig Van Beethoven. Hope that her life and video would serve as inspiration to those who close to despair.

$2.6m for domain name

A US man has sold the domain name pizza.com for $2.6m (£1.3m) - after maintaining the site for just $20 a year since 1994.

Chris Clark, 43, accepted the offer from an anonymous bidder after a week-long online auction.

"It's crazy, it's just crazy," Mr Clark, who lives in North Potomac, Maryland, was quoted as saying by the Baltimore Sun newspaper.

"It will make a significant difference in my life, for sure," he added.

His Regret

Mr Clark registered the domain name in 1994, when the world wide web was just starting.

He had hoped that pizza.com would help to get a contract with a pizza firm for his consulting company.

He sold his business in 2000, but kept paying the $20 annual fees for maintaining the domain, which he also used to sell advertisements.

In January, Mr Clark decided to sell it after hearing that another domain - Vodka.com - was sold for $3m in 2006.

"I thought, 'Why don't I just try to see what the level of interest is?'" Mr Clark said.

"If someone's willing to pay that much for Vodka.com, maybe there's more interest in pizza.com."

The online auction was launched on 27 March. The first bid was $100, jumping to $2.6m a week later.

Having accepted the latter offer, Mr Clark hopes to get his windfall in a few days' time when the transaction is completed.

He said he now regretted not buying more domain names in the 1990s.

10.Storm, 2007
The worst recent virus, Storm spread via email spam with a fake attachment and ultimately infected up to 10 million computers, causing them to join its zombie botnet.

9. MyDoom, 2004
Notable as the fastest-spreading email virus of all time, MyDoom infected computers so they would, in turn, send even more junk mail. In a strange twist, MyDoom was also used to attack the website of SCO Group, a very unpopular company that was suing other companies over its code being used in Linux distributions.

8. Slammer, 2003
Another fast spreader, this worm infected about 75,000 systems in just 10 minutes, slowing the Internet to a crawl (much like Code Red) and shutting down thousands of websites.

An email virus, Klez pioneered spoofing the "From" field in email messages it sent, making it impossible to tell if Bill Gates did or did not really send you that information about getting free money.

Built on Code Red's attack system of finding multiple avenues into machines (email, websites, network connections, and others), Nimda infected both Web servers and user machines. It found paths into computers so effectively that, 22 minutes after it was released, it became the Internet's most widespread virus at the time.

An early "blended threat" attack, Code Red targeted Web servers instead of user machines, defacing websites and later launching denial-of-service attacks on a host of IP addresses, including those of the White House.

4. ILOVEYOU, 2000
This was notable for being one of the first viruses to trick users into opening a file, which in this case claimed to be a love letter sent to the recipient. In reality, the file was a VBS script that sent mountains of junk mail and deleted thousands of files. The results were terribly devastating- one estimate holds that 10 percent of all computers were affected, to a cost of $5.5 billion. It remains perhaps the worst worm of all time.

3. Melissa, 1999
Technically a worm, Melissa (named after a stripper) collapsed entire email systems by causing computers to send mountains of messages to each other. The author of the virus was eventually caught and sentenced to 20 months in prison.

2. Michelangelo, 1991
The worst MS-DOS virus ever, Michelangelo attacked the boot sector of your hard drive and any floppy drive inserted into the computer, which caused the virus to spread rapidly. After spreading quietly for months, the virus "activated" on March 6, and promptly started destroying data on tens of thousands of computers.

I remember when i was a 2nd grader there where people who came in our class room to promote that reading and mathematic skills are important, of course they we're selling books and stuffs for mathematical purpose. But i was not into math so i decided to bought a book entitled the Adventure of Humadapnon. I dont know him but i was curious and amazed, intrigue by the its cover a man lifting a rock, like hercules. so i bought the book for 50 Pesos, Of course i bought it on the following day because i need to ask money from my mother. So I read the book and each of us who bought a book were asked by the teacher to read aloud it for next week class. so i was forced to read it. :) and now i want to share his story with you...

The Adventures of Humadapnon

A message from his spirit friends, Taghoy and Duwindi, came to Humadapnon in his sleep. In his dream he was told that a lovely maiden named Nagmalitong Yawa lived in a village by the mouth of the Halawod river. Humadpnon was the chief of the Sulod Nation whose people occupied an area close to the source of the Pan-ay river.

Humadapnon went to look for the maiden. He rode his golden boat for the journey. One day his boat was taken by a mysterious force that led it to a stagnant sea where the water was the color of human blood. It took Humadapnon and his crew seven months to cross this body of water.

They all thought they were safe until a strong wind came upon them and the boat was blown into a passage near the mouth of the Saruma river where two islands continously hit each other at intervals. With the help of his spirit friends Humadapnon was able to navigate his boat through the channel safely.

One day they came upon an island called Tarangban which was inhabited by beautiful women headed by a sorceress named Ginmayunan. Through the use of her charms and magic she persuaded Humadapnon to stay. Later Humadapnon and his crew were imprisoned by the women in the island for seven years.

Taghoy and Duwindi went to seek the help of Nagmalitong Yawa to free their friend. Nagmalitong Yawa, disguised as a man named Buyung Sunmasakay, won the freedom of Humadapnon and his crew. Afterwards Buyung Sunmasakay performed a ritual which removed the charms of Ginmayunan on Humadapnon. When Buyung Sunmasakay tranformed back into Nagmalitong Yawa, Humadapnon was struck by her beauty and immediately asked for her hand in marriage.

The maiden, who also was in love with him, told Humadapnon that she has to go back home to ask the blessings of her parents before she gets married. So they proceeded to Halawod. Along the way Humadapnon encountered Buyung Paglambuhan who ruled an island fortress in the middle of the sea. He vanquished the latter. Humadapnon and Nagmalitong Yawa were married in Halawod.

During the wedding feast, Dumalapdap met Huyung Adlaw, the daughter of one of the guests, Nabalansang Sukla who was the god of the Upperworld. Dumalapdap requested his brother Humadapnon to help him talk to the maiden's parents. They planned to go to the Upperworld after the wedding feast.

The journey took seven years. Matan-ayon, Humadapnon's mother suggested to Malitong Yawa that she should marry again for it seems that her husband is not coming back. Nagmalitong Yawa decided to re-marry this time to a man named Buyung Sumagulung, son of Mamang Paglambuhan who ruled an island fortress. The wedding ceremony was about to start when Humadapnon and Dumalapdap returned. At a distance Humadapnon blew his horn to signal his arrival. Those who were gathered for the ceremony grew fearful and some of the men went to the shoreline to meet the brothers and inform them of what was happening. The two were so angered that they killed all guests and the groom.

Humadapnon confronted his wife about her treachery. She explained that it was his mother who made the suggestion for her to re-marry. Humadapnon stabbed his wife to death. Later his conscience bothered him for what he did to his wife. His spirit friends also told him that his wife was not at fault and that what he did was unjust.

With remorse in his heart he approached his sister Labing Anyag and asked for her help for she had the power to bring back life to the dead. Seeing that her brother was geniunely sorry for what he did, she complied and brought back Nagmalitong Yawa from the dead.

Nagmalitong Yawa also felt shame for what she did to her husband so she ran away from him and went to the Underworld which was ruled by her uncle, Panlinugun, who is lord of the earthquake. Humadapnon followed her to the Underworld killing the eight-headed snake that guarded the channel leading to the place. She ran towards the Upperworld but half-way between the Middleworld and the Upperworld she was spirited away by a young man riding on the shoulders of the wind.

Humadapnon caught up with them and challenged the stranger to a duel. They fought for seven years with no one gaining the upperhand. The long fight was being witnessed by Alunsina from above. She got tired watching the contest so she came down to settle the case.

During the deliberations it was revealed to everyone's surprise that the stanger was Amarotha, also a son of Alunsina who died at childbirth but was brought back to life by her to keep her company. Alunsina decided that each man was entitled to a part of Nagmalitong Yawa so she ordered that the latter's body be cut in half. One half went to Humadapnon and the other to Amarotha. Alunsina then turned each half into a whole live person.

Humadapnon brought his wife back to Panay and ruled the island for centuries.

First what is eCPM? eCPM stands for "effective cost per thousand impressions" eCPM is calculated by dividing total earnings by total number of impressions in thousands. It is a great performance measure for your various ad units.

This is just a thought based in my own opinion and not a profound basis, to gain a greater eCPM value.

Traffic is based on contents and the ability of content to attract visitors

I thinks its advisable to use a high paying keywords or the most relevant search search keyword. Usually sites without a lot of content Google will give you a little per click value.

Drive traffic to your site

Update your site regularly should not be put aside, posting of new, attractive and in demand content would surely increase your eCPM value.
Give intellectual comments to other bloggers, This is a old tactics but works very good.
Join in community Networks and be active joining the community forums
Be more on content not on widgets/Photos/Videos along the side bar. Google will not count those things as context content.

Doing those things above for sure this will increase your site traffic.

Since the site drive a lot of traffic and clicks the eCPM value will now increase as well as the value of every clicks.

The very easy way and the most cheapest way to increase your page ranking is through inbound link. Inbound links are links that basically links that are directed to your site. The best way to get inbound links is simply to create links with other webmasters that has a relevance content with your site. These are known as natural links — the type of link which is created purely to increase the usefulness of the internet (in an ideal world all links would be natural). Natural links have many advantages:

You don't have to work to acquire them (except creating the content in the first place).
They are free and you don't have to reciprocate the link.
The links will be diverse, with different anchor text.
The referring pages tend to be similarly themed (this is likely to become more important in the future).

If you are lucky you will attract enough natural links to give your site a boost. However most websites need to make an effort to acquire inbound links. You must be very careful about this! There are many ways to create links to your website — some of them are acceptable and some aren't. If you use the wrong methods, search engines may detect this and penalise you severely.

Page Rank Algorithm

The original PageRank algorithm was described by Lawrence Page and Sergey Brin in several publications. It is given by

PR(A) = (1-d) + d (PR(T1)/C(T1) + ... + PR(Tn)/C(Tn))

where

	PR(A) is the PageRank of page A,
	PR(Ti) is the PageRank of pages Ti which link to page A,
	C(Ti) is the number of outbound links on page Ti and
	d is a damping factor which can be set between 0 and 1.

So, first of all, we see that PageRank does not rank web sites as a whole, but determined each page individually. Further, the PageRank of page A is recursively defined by the PageRanks of those pages which link to page A.

The PageRank of pages Ti which link to page A does not influence the PageRank of page A uniformly. Within the PageRank algorithm, the PageRank of a page T is always weighted by the number of outbound links C(T) on page T. This means that the more outbound links a page T has, the less will page A benefit from a link to it on page T.

The weighted PageRank of pages Ti is then added up. The outcome of this is that an additional inbound link for page A will always increase page A's PageRank.

Finally, the sum of the weighted PageRanks of all pages Ti is multiplied with a damping factor d which can be set between 0 and 1. Thereby, the extend of PageRank benefit for a page by another page linking to it is reduced.

The Effect of Inbound Links

Having links from other websites to yours is a critical part of search engine optimisation. As well as the obvious bonus of having people follow these links to your site, inbound links provide the following benefits:

Search engine robots follow links between websites. The more inbound links you have, the more often robots will visit your site.
Many search engines count links to your site as "votes" for you. They assume that if lots of websites link to your site it must be high quality. Page Rank is Google's system of counting links.

The general rule is that the more inbound links you can get, the better. Getting more links should almost certainly be near the top of your priority list when optimising your site.

It has already been shown that each additional inbound link for a web page/blog always increases the page's PageRank. Taking a look at the PageRank algorithm, which is given

PR(A) = (1-d) + d (PR(T1)/C(T1) + ... + PR(Tn)/C(Tn))

one may assume that an additional inbound link from page X increases the PageRank of page A

d × PR(X) / C(X)

where PR(X) is the PageRank of page X and C(X) is the total number of its outbound links. But page A usually links to other pages itself. Thus, these pages get a PageRank benefit also. If these pages link back to page A, page A will have an even higher PageRank benefit from its additional inbound link.

The single effects of additional inbound links shall be illustrated by an example.

We regard a website consisting of four pages A, B, C and D which are linked to each other in circle. Without external inbound links to one of these pages, each of them obviously has a PageRank of 1. We now add a page X to our example, for which we presume a constant Pagerank PR(X) of 10. Further, page X links to page A by its only outbound link. Setting the damping factor d to 0.5, we get the following equations for the PageRank values of the single pages of our site:

Website(A) = 0.5 + 0.5 (PR(X) + PR(D)) = 5.5 + 0.5 PR(D)
Website(B) = 0.5 + 0.5 PR(A)
Website(C) = 0.5 + 0.5 PR(B)
Website(D) = 0.5 + 0.5 PR(C)

Since the total number of outbound links for each page is one, the outbound links do not need to be considered in the equations. Solving them gives us the following PageRank values:

Website(A) = 19/3 = 6.33
Website(B) = 11/3 = 3.67
Website(C) = 7/3 = 2.33
Website(D) = 5/3 = 1.67

We see that the initial effect of the additional inbound link of Website A, which was given by

d × PR(X) / C(X) = 0,5 × 10 / 1 = 5

is passed on by the links on our site.

The Influence of the Damping Factor

The degree of PageRank propagation from one page to another by a link is primarily determined by the damping factor d. If we set d to 0.75 we get the following equations for our above example:

Website(A) = 0.25 + 0.75 (PR(X) + PR(D)) = 7.75 + 0.75 PR(D)
Website(B) = 0.25 + 0.75 PR(A)
Website(C) = 0.25 + 0.75 PR(B)
Website(D) = 0.25 + 0.75 PR(C)

Solving these equations gives us the following PageRank values:

Website(A) = 419/35 = 11.97
Website(B) = 323/35 = 9.23
Website(C) = 251/35 = 7.17
Website(D) = 197/35 = 5.63

First of all, we see that there is a significantly higher initial effect of additional inbound link for page A which is given by

d × PR(X) / C(X) = 0.75 × 10 / 1 = 7.5

This initial effect is then propagated even stronger by the links on our site. In this way, the PageRank of page A is almost twice as high at a damping factor of 0.75 than it is at a damping factor of 0.5. At a damping factor of 0.5 the PageRank of page A is almost four times superior to the PageRank of page D, while at a damping factor of 0.75 it is only a little more than twice as high. So, the higher the damping factor, the larger is the effect of an additional inbound link for the PageRank of the page that receives the link and the more evenly distributes PageRank over the other pages of a site.

The idea is to write a news article with some legitimacy and request a quote from the company/individual you want a link from. Once they know you're writing about them, make sure to send them a copy of the press release or story once it hits and let them know they're welcome to copy portions of the article for their own site if they'd like to reference it (with a link of course).

4 - Friends & Family
I'm always surprised at how few people send a loads of email out to their friends and family requesting links. You're guaranteed near 100% conversion rates for those who do have websites or blogs and it's a natural way of making connections - after all, these are the same people who'd recommend you at a party to their friends, so why not ask for the exchange online.

5 - Think Local
Sites from Citysearch & Yellow Pages to Google Maps (though that link doesn't count) provide global, local links if you sign up with them, but in nearly every mid-large population area, there are literally hundreds of directories and lists of local companies in every possible category. Oftentimes they're free and even when they aren't, the prices to be listed are fairly inexpensive.

Oldest Province
Aklan, originally known as Minuro it Akean, is considered as the oldest province in the country and believed to have been established as early as 1213 by settlers from Borneo. Its first ruler was Datu Dinagandan. In 1399, Kalantiaw grabbed the throne. In 1433, Kalantiaw III formulated a set of laws that is known today as the Code of Kalantiaw.

Oldest Town
Unisan, Quezon could be the oldest town in the Philippines. The people of Unisan claimed that their town is now 481 years old, having been established in 1521, the same year that Ferdinand Magellan discovered the Philippines. All other towns in the country were established not earlier than 1565, when Spain formally occupied the Philippines as a colony.

A Malayan queen named Ladya reportedly founded Calilayan, the old name of the town. In 1876, Calilayan was renamed Unisan which was derived from the Latin word uni-sancti, meaning "holy saint". (Source: Philippine Daily Inquirer)

Cebu City is considered as the oldest city in the country, as this was the site of the earliest European settlement established by Spanish conqueror Miguel Lopez de Legazpi in 1565.

Oldest Fort
The first Spanish settlement in the country, Villa del Santisimo Nombre de Jesus, was located inside Fort San Pedro in Cebu City. The fort's construction began in 1565.

Oldest Street
Calle Colon in Cebu City is considered as the oldest street in the country. Named after explorer Christopher Columbus, Calle Colon was first constructed in 1565 by men of Miguel Lopez de Legazpi.

Oldest Stone Church
The Baclayon Church in Bohol is considered as the oldest stone church in the Philippines. But some historians disagree, claiming that San Agustin Church in Manila deserves the title.

Church historians claim that the cornerstones of San Agustin Church were laid as early as 1571, 25 years before Baclayon Church was built in 1596. But most people believe the title should be kept by the latter, since it is situated in the island first occupied by the troops of Miguel Lopez de Legazpi, the country's first Spanish governor general.
Bohol was where a friendship was sealed with blood between chieftain Rajah Sikatuna and Legazpi. The event is known today as ''The Blood Compact.''

Oldest Hospital
The San Lazaro Hospital could be the oldest hospital in the country. According to Pampango historian Zoilo Galang, the San Lazaro hospital was established in 1578; Enfermeria de Naga, 1583; and Hospital de San Juan de Dios, 1596.

Oldest Church Bell
The oldest church bell in the country is said to be the one found in Camalaniugan, Cagayan. That bell was reportedly forged in 1595.

Oldest Bridge
The Jones Bridge, formerly known as Puente de Espana, was first built in 1701. It was rebuilt by the Americans in 1916 and renamed after Atkinson Jones.

Oldest University
The University of San Carlos (USC) in Cebu City is considered as the oldest school in the country and in Asia. Formerly known as the Colegio de San Ildefonso, it was founded by the Spanish Jesuits on August 1, 1595. This makes the Cebu-based university older than the University of Santo Tomas (1611) in Manila and Harvard University (1636) in the United States.

The University of Santo Tomas, however, contests this title. Formerly known as the Colegio de Nuestra Señora del Rosario, UST was the first school, which got a university status in 1645. USC became a university in 1948. UST also claimed that the original USC was closed in 1769 as a result of the expulsion of the Jesuits. It reopened in 1783 under a new name and ownership. But the USC officials stick to their claim. The university observed its 400th foundation day on August 21, 1995.

Oldest Vocational School
The Don Honorio Ventura College of Arts and Trades (DHVCAT) in Bacolor, Pampanga is said to be the oldest vocational school in Asia. Augustinian Friar Juan Zita and civic leader Don Felino Gil established the vocational school on November 4, 1861.

Oldest Company
Ayala Corp., one of the largest conglomerates in the country, is also the oldest existing company around. It was established in 1834 by sugar barons Domingo Roxas and Antonio de Ayala. It was later renamed as Casa Ayala, then as Ayala y Compania and recently as Ayala Corp.

Oldest Bank
In 1881, Domingo Roxas, an ancestor of the Ayala family, became one of the first directors of Banco Español-Filipino de Isabel II, which was founded by virtue of a royal decree issued by Queen Isabel II. The bank issued the country's first currency notes the following year. Considered as the first private commercial bank in the country, the bank came to be known as the Bank of Philippine Islands in 1912. The oldest savings bank was Monte de Piedad, which was established in 1882.

Oldest Military Supply Shop
The oldest military supply shop in the country was said to be Alfredo Roensch and Co.

Oldest Rizal Monument
What can be considered as the oldest Rizal monument in the country is a 20-foot metal structure standing at a park in Daet, Camarines Norte. Its construction reportedly began on December 30, 1898 and was finished in February 1899. In comparison, the Rizal monument at the former Luneta park was built in 1912.
Oldest Vice
The earliest vice among native Filipinos, according to historians, was the chewing of betelnut or "nganga". It was said that Filipinos had been chewing betelnut for 3,000 years.

Oldest Insurance Firm
Insular Life Insurance Company was established on November 26, 1910, becoming the oldest insurance agency in the country.

Oldest Epics
In a 1962 study, E. Arsenio Manuel said the country had at least 19 epics, which were passed to the present generation from our early ancestors through oral chanting. Among these so-called ethnoepics were 13 epics among pagan Filipinos, 2 among Christian FilipiPublish Postnos, and 4 among Muslim Filipinos. These included the Ilocano epic Lam-ang, Manuvu's Tuwaang, Sulod's Hinilawod and Maranaw's Bantugan.

P2 M port to serve Iloilo-Guimaras

Two officials assured that the present Jordan and Buenavista ports serving passengers to and from Guimaras will stay even with the proposed construction of the P2 million Eco Port as part of the infrastructure program for the Metro Iloilo-Guimaras Economic Development Council (MIGEDC).

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas and Guimaras Gov. Felipe Nava said the old ports will stay as the local governments of Iloilo and Guimaras already agreed to maintain it. The closure is already a non-issue as the ports will continue to cater to the needs of the passengers to and from Guimaras.

In the proposed construction of the P2 million new port, the Consultants for Comprehensive Environmental Planning said they should conduct a thorough study of the Iloilo-Guimaras ferry operations to define the market for the Eco Port and analyze the socioeconomic implications of the Eco port on existing ferry terminals to identify necessary actions. With the socio-economic implications come the issue on the closure or redevelopment of ports.

The consultants led by Architect Nathaniel von Einsiedel also proposed to consult with potential private sector investors for tourism and commercial facilities development.

Einsiedel said the construction of the Eco Port includes the construction of the terminal building. There should also be a tourism office inside the terminal building to guide and give information to the visiting tourists.

Einsiedel said the participation of the private sector in the construction and operation of terminal building should be encouraged. They can pour out their investment from the construction stage until the eventual operation of the port, he said.

Most of the time we are clouded by the ideas how to get rich through Adsense. But sometimes we forgot the proper behavior of placing Adsense to our site. Maybe primarily in my own opinion this is the reason why we got a low sum of earning or more worst. Improper placing of Adsense makes the site looks spammy. For this reason I think visitors would doubt to come visit your page again and may doubt on your publication because the site is more like a spammer page. My conclusion be responsible for ads placements.

What does a robot.txt really do? This is the question that often arise when robot.txt are discussed between newbies like me. There's often confusion as to the role and usage of the robots.txt file. I thought it would be a good idea to dispel some myths and highlight what robots.txt files are all about.There is often confusion as to the role and usage of the robots.txt file. Firstly, a robots.txt file is NOT to let search engine robots and other crawlers know which pages they are allowed to be entered by spiders, it is primarily to tell them what pages (and directories) they can NOT spider.

The majority of websites do not have a robots.txt, and do not suffer from not having one. The robots.txt file does not influence ranking in any way. Its goal is to disallow certain spiders from visiting and taking back with them pages you do not wish for it to do so.

But why some websites use Robot?
Here are a few reasons

1. Not all robots which visit your website have good intentions! There are many, many robots out there whose sole purpose is to scan your website and extract your email address for spamming purposes! A list of the "evil" ones later.

2. You may not be finished building your website (under construction) or sections may be date/ sensitive. I for example excluded all robots from any page of my website whilst I was designing it. I did not want a half complete un-optimized page with an incomplete link structure to be indexed, as if found, it would reflect badly on website. I only let the robots in when the site was ready. This is not only useful for new websites being built but also for old ones getting re-launched.

3. You may well have a membership area that you do not wish to be visible in googles cache. Not letting the robot in is one way to stop this.

4. There are certain things you may wish to keep private. If you have a look at the abakus robots.txt file You will notice I use it to stop indexation of unnecessary forum files/profiles for privacy reasons. Some webmasters also block robots from their cgi-bin or image directories.

This text message woke me up so early in the morning. It’s from a friend who never fails to strike me with her text messages. It’s always like, there are hidden meaning with those words. Well I do agree with that message. Everything happens for a reason whether the reason is good or bad. I guess I am one of those people who often find for the reason in everything that happens in my life. I know for a fact that even the opening of our eyes in the morning has a reason. The falling of the leaves…the raindrops fall…the setting of the sun…a heartbreak…
I remember long time ago, I asked an older friend what’s the purpose of a person’s existence here on earth. I don’t exactly remember her answer but I remember she said that “people exist because of people too…people needs people…like you can say, you exist because I need you and vice versa”. I guess what she means is that, a person exist to comply another person’s needs. Remember the saying: “No man is an island?” I do understand what she’s trying to say but I still want a deeper explanation.
I don’t know what I really want to know but I just knew that I want more answers. It seems not enough. One Ad, Many Keywords

First, it leaves you with non-targeted ads. Both users and search engines are looking for ads that match up with the keyword query that was conducted.
Second, it will cost you extra money. Search engines like Google, Yahoo and Microsoft will charge you a lower cost per click if the keywords you are bidding on show up in your ad. Run an untargeted ad and your cost per click can skyrocket.
Third, it "hides" your ad on the search results. As part of their reward for having a relevant ad listing, most engines will bold the keywords on the search results page which will help draw a searcher's eye to your listing.

Having a successful PPC campaign starts off with keywords. While your keyword list will likely change and evolve over time, it is important to start with something that makes sense.

Base Keywords
First you will want to start off with your base keywords. These are any words you feel are relevant to your site. I’m using this and this great online tools to have a good base of keywords. You may not end up using all of these in your PPC campaign but they will act as a stepping stone to finding other related phrases. Let’s say you own a camera shop. A few relevant keywords may include “digital camera” or “digital SLR”.

You should not forget about misspelling keyword phrases. Once I gathered a good base of misspell keys for one of my campaigns and it brings me about $900 pure per month.

The main negative keyword is “FREE”. Don’t ever use it, it can bring you a big minus. In most of cases it is better to use the keyword “buy” in your title or description. It will decrease the CTR (Click Through Rate) of your campaign, but will increase your relevance.

2. Ad text
When it comes to ad text you not only want your ad to stand out, but you also want it to be highly relevant to the keywords and the destination page. Start by taking a look at some of the paid ads for keywords within your ad group and see what people are saying to draw the attention of shoppers. You may want to use phrases like “Cheap” or “Discount” in your ad text, but if you do this you better be sure that your products fit the bill. If the customer sees “discount” and your prices are too high, they will likely walk (or click) away.

Ensure that your target phrases are located within the ad title, description, or both wherever possible. Not only should your ad stand out, but you really want the searcher to see the direct relevance with what they have searched for. If your search phrase is “Canon Digital Cameras” and your ad doesn’t mention Canon at all, you will lose some searchers.

3. Landing pages
This is really your first chance to sell the user. While you can hook them in and grab their attention with the ads, your landing page better sell your product or service or your chance of conversion will drop drastically. You want the visitor to be sold at this page; having them click all over the site will only raise the chances of having that back button clicked.

The organization of your PPC campaign is really dependant on your requirements as an advertiser. In most cases you will be able to get away with a single campaign broken down into multiple ad groups. Each ad group will focus on a set of similar key phrases and ads.

Using the camera shop example, you may have ad groups broken into brand names (Canon, Nikon, Sony), camera types (digital, digital SLR, 35mm), or a combination of, (Canon digital, Canon digital SLR, Canon 35mm).

By having your campaigns and ad groups properly organized you can save yourself time and headaches when it comes to ensuring that your ad and keyword combinations are relevant and optimized.

5. Analysis
Be sure to check the conversion and click through rates of not only your ads, but your individual keywords. If you find that some keywords are simply not bringing you any sales, you may want to consider pausing them, or making changes to improve their chances. This may involve setting up a new ad group and creating new ads more focused on the individual keyword, or it may be as simple as just adjusting the bid.

Site owners started to recognize the value of having their sites highly ranked and visible in search engine results, creating an opportunity for both white hat and black hat SEO practitioners. I came to my attention to post this, very informative SEO jargons inorder to give answer to some questions regarding Search Engine Optimization(SEO) and Wed Development. This post came from SEOmoz, which im a member for almost 3 months. This post was originally in YOUmoz section, but was so excellent we promoted it to the blog.

I'm not quite sure that this is appropriate for YOUmoz, but I am sure that it's useful information for newcomers to this community. I have no doubt that there will be some disagreement about some of these definitions, because some of them are probably wrong, and comments about errors and omissions are more than welcome.

301 A permanent server redirect - a change of address for a web page found in the htaccess file on apache servers. Also useful for dealing with canonical issues.

adwords Google Pay Per Click contextual advertisement program, very common way of basic website advertisement.

adwords site (MFA) Made For Google Adsense Advertisements - websites that are designed from the ground up as a venue for GA advertisements. This is usually, but not always a bad thing. TV programming is usually Made For Advertisement.

affiliate An affiliate site markets products or services that are actually sold by another website or business in exchange for fees or commissions.

algorithm (algo) A program used by search engines to determine what pages to suggest for a given search query.

alt text A description of a graphic, which usually isn’t displayed to the end user, unless the graphic is undeliverable, or a browser is used that doesn’t display graphics. Alt text is important because search engines can’t tell one picture from another. Alt text is the one place where it is acceptable for the spider to get different content than the human user, but only because the alt text is accessible to the user, and when properly used is an accurate description of the associated picture. Special web browsers for visually challenged people rely on the alt text to make the content of graphics accessible to the users.

analytics A program which assists in gathering and analyzing data about website usage. Google analytics is a feature rich, popular, free analytics program.

anchor text The user visible text of a link. Search engines use anchor text to indicate the relevancy of the referring site and of the link to the content on the landing page. Ideally all three will share some keywords in common.

astroturfing (the opposite of full disclosure) attempting to advance a commercial or political agenda while pretending to be an impartial grassroots participant in a social group. Participating in a user forum with the secret purpose of branding, customer recruitment, or public relations.

authority (trust, link juice, Google juice) The amount of trust that a site is credited with for a particular search query. Authority/trust is derived from related incoming links from other trusted sites.

authority site A website which has many incoming links from other related expert/hub sites. Because of this simultaneous citation from trusted hubs an authority site usually has high trust, pagerank, and search results placement. Wikipedia, is an example of an authority site.

back link (inlink, incoming link) Any link into a page or site from any other page or site.

black hat Search engine optimization tactics that are counter to best practices such as the Google Webmaster Guidelines.

blog A website which presents content in a more or less chronological series. Content may or may not be time sensitive. Most blogs us a Content Management System such as WordPress rather than individually crafted WebPages. Because of this, the Blogger can chose to concentrate on content creation instead of arcane code.

bot (robot, spider, crawler) A program which performs a task more or less autonomously. Search engines use bots to find and add web pages to their search indexes. Spammers often use bots to “scrape” content for the purpose of plagiarizing it for exploitation by the Spammer.

bounce rate The percentage of users who enter a site and then leave it without viewing any other pages.

bread crumbs Web site navigation in a horizontal bar above the main content which helps the user to understand where they are on the site and how to get back to the root areas.

canonical issues (duplicate content) canon = legitimate or official version - It is often nearly impossible to avoid duplicate content, especially with CMSs like Wordpress, but also due to the fact that www.site.com, site.com, and www.site.com/index.htm are supposedly seen as dupes by the SEs - although it’s a bit hard to believe they aren’t more sophisticated than that. However these issues can be dealt with effectively in several ways including - using the noindex meta tag in the non-canonical copies, and 301 server redirects to the canon.

click fraud Improper clicks on a PPC advertisement usually by the publisher or his minions for the purpose of undeserved profit. Click fraud is a huge issue for add agencies like Google, because it lowers advertiser confidence that they will get fair value for their add spend.

cloak The practice of delivering different content to the search engine spider than that seen by the human users. This Black Hat tactic is frowned upon by the search engines and caries a virtual death penalty of the site/domain being banned from the search engine results.

CMS Content Management System - Programs such as Wordpress, which separate most of the mundane Webmaster tasks from content creation so that a publisher can be effective without acquiring or even understanding sophisticated coding skills if they so chose.

code swapping (bait and switch) Changing the content after high rankings are achieved.

comment spam Posting blog comments for the purpose of generating an inlink to another site. The reason many blogs use link condoms.

content (text, copy) The part of a web page that is intended to have value for and be of interest to the user. Advertising, navigation, branding and boilerplate are not usually considered to be content.

contextual advertisement Advertising which is related to the content.

conversion (goal) Achievement of a quantifiable goal on a website. Add clicks, sign ups, and sales are examples of conversions.

conversion rate Percentage of users who convert - see conversion.

CPC Cost Per Click - the rate that is paid per click for a Pay Per Click Advertiser

CPM (Cost Per Thousand impressions) A statistical metric used to quantify the average value / cost of Pay Per Click advertisements. M - from the Roman numeral for one thousand.

crawler (bot, spider) A program which moves through the worldwide web or a website by way of the link structure to gather data.

directory A site devoted to directory pages. The Yahoo directory is an example.

directory page A page of links to related WebPages.

doorway (gateway) A web page that is designed specifically to attract traffic from a search engine. A doorway page which redirects users (but not spiders) to another site or page is implementing cloaking. - Previous Definition revised based upon advice from Michael Martinez

duplicate content Obviously content which is similar or identical to that found on another website or page. A site may not be penalized for serving duplicate content but it will receive little if any Trust from the search engines compared to the content that the SE considers being the original.

e commerce site A website devoted to retail sales.

feed Content which is delivered to the user via special websites or programs such as news aggregators.

FFA (Free For All) A page or site with many outgoing links to unrelated websites, containing little if any unique content. Link farms are only intended for spiders, and have little if any value to human users, and thus are ignored or penalized by the search engines.

frames a web page design where two or more documents appear on the same screen, each within it’s own frame. Frames are bad for SEO because spiders sometimes fail to correctly navigate them. Additionally, most users dislike frames because it is almost like having two tiny monitors neither of which shows a full page of information at one time.

gateway page (doorway page) A web page that is designed to attract traffic from a search engine and then redirect it to another site or page. A doorway page is not exactly the same as cloaking but the effect is the same in that users and search engines are served different content.

gadget see gizmo

gizmo (gadget, widget) small applications used on web pages to provide specific functions such as a hit counter or IP address display. Gizmos can make good link bait.

Google bomb The combined effort of multiple webmasters to change the Google search results usually for humorous effect. The “miserable failure” - George Bush, and “greatest living American” - Steven Colbert Google bombs are famous examples.

Google bowling Maliciously trying to lower a sites rank by sending it links from the “bad neighborhood” - Kind of like yelling “Good luck with that infection!” to your buddy as you get off the school bus - there is some controversy as to if this works or is just an SEO urban myth.

Google dance The change in SERPs caused by an update of the Google database or algorithm. The cause of great angst and consternation for webmasters who slip in the SERPs. Or, the period of time during a Google index update when different data centers have different data.

According to the Iloilo Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), a three-day training on Basic Website Development was recently conducted with resource persons from the National Computer Center (NCC) and the Google Consulting team, who lectured on the technicalities and requirements of a project intended to make Iloilo municipalities globally accessible to tourists and investors.

The said project partnership with the Association of Municipal Planning and development Coordinators, Inc. of Iloilo, making the province of Iloilo the first to have a chance to develop an email domain using Google Application which provides access to employees within the region.

The "@iloilo.gov.ph" email domain is to serve as model for other LGUs to have one common and official email domain, where access to different municipalities can be made possible.

Mr. Felipe Vista IV, NCC Information Technology Coordinator for Region VI, said websites serve as the windows of the municipalities to investors and tourists from all over the world.

“One a cheater, always a cheater!” Do you believe in this? Well this was the subject of our discussion when I was out the other night with my friends. That was fun and healthy argument regarding a man’s infidelity. I find it amusing talking about it with guys around. Of course it is expected that they will defend themselves. But why does a man cheat? Who’s really at fault? Who’s to be blame when a man looks for another woman even if they’re already married or have a girlfriend?
I guess there is no man who admits their mistakes without making excuses…and worst, sometimes it is the woman they’re blaming why they cheat! Its bullshit really! That makes a man really stupid! Why would they put the blame to women when it’s them who made a mistake? There are so many alibis they will make just to justify their foolishness. They will say that women nag all the time. Well I guess a woman won’t nag if there’s no reason to nag for…another issue is lack of time. But who’s out of the house most of the time anyway? Isn’t it the man? Well there are women, who works but the couple can make proper arrangement with that and besides, sometimes the reason why women work is because some men can’t provide well to the family. Another reason that men cheat and I think is the most stupid is this: “They are men and it is just natural for them to look for another woman.” This is really unfair! This reason should be erased!
Men and women are born equal and I guess it should be apply in everything. But I’m not saying that it’s also okay if a woman will cheat too…of course it should not be. The point here is: “One person should not look for another or should not have another relationship if they’re already committed to someone.” They should consider “commitment” as a sacred thing. I think most men don’t value that word and most of them don’t know what “true love” means. Men are insensitive and only think of themselves most of the time. They only want to satisfy themselves and lust is always the first thing in their mind instead of love. They only see women as their toy and slave that they can just dump anytime they want. Well I guess if they are not satisfied with their partners anymore…at least have a heart to tell them so that they won’t look like a fool that still believing that they’re being love when the fact is they’re already being cheated! That’s so sad…
First and for all, if you truly love someone, the last thing you want to do is hurt that person. You only think of giving all the best for that person. You always want to make that person happy…willing to sacrifice everything. You do everything…you are being sensitive in everything that concerns that person. That’s what true love is…and I guess “men” are too dumb and cruel to realize that!

Filipino Biophysicist Discovers a Breakthrough in Cancer Diagnosis

ESTEEMED members of the academe, proud guests and the new PhD graduates fill the large ornate hall in Ultrecht University in The Netherlands. Among the new batch of scientists, a Filipino stands out. His outstanding doctoral thesis created quite a stir in the medical and scientific field. Meet Jonathan Palero

Jonathan Palero finished his doctorate degree (Physics and Astronomy) from the Ultrecht University in The Netherlands last July 2007. His acclaimed work, entitled “Nonlinear spectral imaging of biological tissues”, offers a new procedure in cancer diagnosis.

In an interview with Asian Journal, Jonathan Palero explained his doctoral research and breakthrough work. “The microscope has been around since the 1600s, but it was not until the early 1900s that it emerged as a scientific tool rather than a hobbyist’s toy. Since then, the microscope saw its potential in biology and medicine.

More than a decade ago, a new development in skin cancer diagnosis emerged. This is known as Optical Biopsy.

Traditionally, cancer diagnosis is carried out by slicing or punching a hole into the diseased skin, cutting the biopsy into thin slices, fixing them on a slide, and placing these under the microscope for scrutiny by a Pathologist. This procedure takes about six weeks or more. Besides the invasiveness of this method, it is time-consuming and prone to inaccuracies.

Optical biopsy on the other hand promises accurate diagnosis of skin cancer without cutting up the tissue.

The work we did was intended to advance Optical Biopsy into a more accurate diagnosis method. By using an advanced technique called Nonlinear Microscopy, we were able to image cells deep inside living skin tissues. Although imaging cells inside tissues has been done before, we were the first to observe the natural ‘glow’ or auto-fluorescence of the cells in full color without the use of any artificial coloring or ‘staining’. The shape as well as the color of a cell changes depending on its state – healthy, dying, or cancerous. This has been a big step towards a more accurate cancer diagnosis,” Palero reported.
Because of the dramatic results and the impact of his research, Palero’s work was featured in a national newspaper in The Netherlands and was on the front cover and main story of the August issue of Biophysical Journal.

Despite all the amazing attention that he has been getting as a result of his work, Jonathan remains humble and unassuming. “Simple lang ako,” (I’m really quite simple) Jonathan or Onats (as he prefers friends to call him) describes himself.

“Napakadaling makibagay. Walang akong pinipiling kaibigan. Lahat gusto kong bigyan ng pansin.”(I’m easy to get along with. I make friends with anyone because I like to pay attention to people I meet.)

Palero finished his BS and MS in Physics in the University of the Philippines.

He was the recipient of the Gawad Chanselor Award (University Chancellor Award)in 2002. For his work on the Development of a Raman Light Source, Palero also got the award for Natatanging Imbensiyon at Inobasyon (Most Outstanding Invention and Innovation)in February 2002. While in UP, he worked on Laser Design and Development in the Photonics Research Laboratory and his research was the design and development of a Multi-color Hydrogen Raman Laser.

After finishing his Masters, awarded Most Outstanding MS Graduate, Jonathan then applied at different universities around the world. Utrecht University (and another Dutch University) responded and he was accepted after two interviews. He started his doctorate studies in 2003 and graduated July 2007.

When not busy doing scientific research, Jonathan relaxes with many hobbies.

“I love charcoal painting, playing the piano and guitar, writing poems, reading books, watching TV and movies, and playing computer games,” he relates. He is also a member (President, 2005-2006, Secretary, 2006-present) of Damayang Pilipino sa Nederland (DAMAYAN), an organization that helps poor Filipinos in the Philippines.

Palero’s recently developed technology takes three-dimensional color picture of living tissue by using a new measuring technique. This technique enables scientists to examine the tissue in vivo, without being removed from the body and being dissected. The unique microscope Palero used during his research has been equipped with a ‘femtosecond’ laser and a specific color-sensitive detector. His thesis explains that by using a color-sensitive detector it is possible to observe a color spectrum from each angle in the sample. The color spectrum of the biologically undamaged tissue provides information on the structure and biochemistry of the tissue. This way, changes in the skin may be observed very well, for instance, by UV-radiation and it may possibly discriminate tumors as well.

Palero excitedly shared his insight on his new technology. “We are optimistic that in the near future, using the spectral imaging technology we developed, diagnosis of skin cancer and other forms of superficial cancer such as esophageal or intestinal cancer will be easier, faster, more accurate and much less invasive and painful. Aside from the promise of real-time results, the system also offers opportunities to detect diseases more quickly and more directly without the need to remove any tissue.”

E ano'ng ginagawa mo tungkol dito?

Kumuha ka ng isang taong papunta sa Singapore . Bigyan mo sya ng pangalan, yung sa IYO. Bigyan MO sya ng mukha, yung sa IYO. Lumabas KA sa airport nang

makapagmaneho sa Orchard Road (parang EDSA) mula alas 5 hanggang alas 8 ng gabi. Bumalik KA sa parking lot para bayaran ang parking tiket mo kung napasobra ka ng
oras sa shopping o sa pagkain sa isang restaurant. Sa Singapore , wala KAng sinasabi, meron ba?

Hindi MO susubukang kumain sa lantad kapag Ramadan sa Dubai . Hindi MO susubukang lumabas ng bahay na walang takip ang mukha sa Jeddah.
Hindi MO susubukang lagyan ang isang empleyado ng kumpanya ng telepono sa London para mapunta sa ibang tao ang mga long distance na tawag mo.

Hindi MO susubukang lumampas ng 90 kilometers per hour
sa Washington, at saka sasabihin sa pulis "Alam mo kung sino ako?"

Bakit di MO subukang dumura o magtapon ng upos ng sigarilyo o balat ng kendi sa mga kalye sa Tokyo ?

Bakit hindi MO subukang bumili ng pekeng mga papeles
sa Boston tulad ng ginagawa sa Recto?

komunidad, at ang pamahalaan. Pero hindi kasama IKAW at AKO. Pagdating sa ating pagkakaroon ng positibong handog sa sistema, ikinakandado natin ang sarili, pati
na ang ating pamilya sa loob ng isang ligtas na pugad at tumatanaw na lang tayo sa malayong mga lugar at bansa at naghihintay ng isang Mr. Clean na dumating at
maghatid na mga himala.

O lumilikas tayo. Parang mga tamad na duwag na hindi pinatatahimik ng ating mga takot, tumatakbo tayo sa Amerika upang makisalo sa kanilang luwalhati at
purihin sa kanilang sistema. Pero pag naging masalimuot sa New York tatakbo tayo sa Japan o Hongkong. Pag nagkahirapan ang paghanap ng trabaho sa
Hongkong, sakay agad tayo sa susunod na eroplano patungong Gitnang Silangan. Pag may digmaan sa Gulf, inaasahan nating masagip at mapauwi ng Gobyernong
Pilipino.

Lahat ay handang umabuso at gumahasa sa bansa. Walang nag-iisip na handugan ang sistema. Ang konsyensya natin ay nakasanla sa pera. Mga mahal kong kababayan,
ang sulating ito ay matinding nakakakislot ng isipan, nangangailangan ng maraming pagmumuni-muni, at tumutusok din sa konsyensya. Medyo inuulit ko lang
ayon sa ating salita ang mga salita ni John
.F.Kennedy sa kanyang kabansa upang maitugma sa ating mga Pilipino:

"Itanong natin kung ano ang magagawa natin sa ating bansang Pilipinas at gawin ang nararapat upang ang Pilipinas ay maging tulad ng Amerika at ibang
kanlurang bansa ngayon."

Gawin natin kung ano ang kailangan ng Pilipinas sa atin. Ipasa ito sa lahat ng Pilipino.
